About the Role:

We are excited to offer a leadership opportunity at Scott M Aber CPA, now part of Numera, for a Tax Manager with strong experience in federal and NYS business and personal taxes. Ideal candidates hold a CPA or EA certification and have a background in small to midsized CPA firms. This role includes managing your P&L and is part of our expansion strategy, with a clear path to partnership/ownership in a rapidly growing, innovative firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tax Preparation and Review: Review and prepare federal and NYS business and personal tax returns, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
• Strategic Tax Planning: Provide strategic tax planning guidance and identify opportunities for clients to optimize their financial strategies and minimize tax liabilities.
• Client Collaboration: Build strong relationships with clients and provide tailored solutions to their tax and financial challenges.
• Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a collaborative work environment and maintaining high standards of client service.
• Compliance and Research: Stay updated with changing tax regulations and conduct research on complex tax issues to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Skills and Qualifications:

• CPA or EA Certification: Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or EA (Enrolled Agent) certification is required.
• Extensive Tax Knowledge: Proficient in federal and NYS tax regulations, with expertise in both business and personal taxes.
• Attention to Detail: Accuracy and precision in reviewing and analyzing tax returns.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to evaluate complex tax situations and develop innovative tax strategies.
• Experience in Small/Medium CPA Firms: Background in small or medium-sized CPA firms is preferred.
• Commitment to Learning: Dedication to staying updated on tax regulations and industry trends.
