Job Description
Spa & Salon Receptionist - FT Location Niagara Falls, NY : The Receptionist shall be responsible for answering incoming calls and booking appointments for the Spa & Salon in a courteous manner while ensuring top quality guest service for the pool & spa clientele. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation's policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Greet guests in a cordial and professional manner. 2. Answer incoming calls and book appointments accordingly, take detailed and accurate messages, transfer calls if appropriate, and take initiative to resolve problems or provide requested information. 3. Listen and resolve complaints/problems from customers. 4. Receive payment and record receipts for services. 5. Receive, open, and distribute incoming mail if directed. 6. Maintain inventory of supplies and requisition items on a weekly basis or when needed. 7. Maintain department and administrative records and files. 8. Keep a current record of staff member schedules and availability. 9. Perform duties such as taking care of plants and straightening magazines to maintain lobby or reception area. 10. Provide information about establishment, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided. 11. Assist and instruct spa guests on proper and safe equipment use as necessary. 12. Ensure locker room, pool, spa and exercise areas are stocked with complimentary amenities provided for guests. 13. Collect soiled linens and replenish area with fresh supplies. 14. Perform cleaning duties to ensure the locker room, pool, shower, Jacuzzi, steam room, exercise and cardiovascular areas are kept sanitary and safe. 15. Complete and maintain records of water/pool conditions, emergency medical treatments performed, and other relevant incident information. 16. Inspect recreational equipment for safety hazards and damage or wear. 17. Assist the department managers as needed. 18. Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times. 19. Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff. 20. Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies. 21. Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment. 22. Attend all necessary meetings. 23. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience: 1. Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment. 2. High school diploma or its equivalent required. 3. Three (3) to five (5) years of administrative/clerical work experience preferred. Experience in a spa/salon is also preferred. 4. Experience with money handling and operating cash register. 5. Excellent knowledge of the English Grammar, punctuation and spelling. 6. Computer proficiency with office programs including Microsoft Word. Must have computer skills necessary and be able to operate SpaSoft system and spreadsheets. 7. Must present a professional appearance and demeanor in dealing with the public.
Language Skills and Reasoning Ability: 1. Must possess excellent communication skills. 2. Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers. 3. Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees. 4. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted. 1. Required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, couch or crawl. 2. Lifting of spa/exercise equipment required. 3. Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino/resort. 4. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
Other: 1. Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid Seneca Nation Key license. 2. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues. 3. Work nights, weekends and holidays as required. 4. Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening. 5. Each position has varying minimum qualifications. Salary Starting Rate:
$15.50
Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education. Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
