Job Responsibilities The successful candidate will coordinate, promote, expand, and implement best practices for the City’s Solid Waste and Recycling Programs. Responsibilities include promoting proper waste sorting, reducing illegal dumping, monitoring hazardous waste, ensuring contractor compliance, liaising with the public and waste haulers, and managing outreach programs like “Team Up to Clean Up”. Understanding of contract administration, research methods, and relevant laws and regulations. Strong public relations skills to obtain program support and ensure compliance. Ability to develop and implement program activities and assist with budgeting. Capability to interpret and explain laws, regulations, and policies. Qualifications Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Resource Management, Public Administration, or related field. At least two years of responsible experience in developing and implementing waste management programs. Licenses and Certifications Valid California driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
