Job Description

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a highly a talented Production Planner to join their team in Crystal Lake, IL. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and previous experience in a manufacturing Demand Planning or Production Planning role, preferably within the custom manufacturing sector. This position requires expertise in coordinating production schedules, sourcing outside operations, and managing incoming components and materials to ensure timely fulfillment of customer requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a detailed production schedule aligned with the master production schedule and customer demands, providing regular updates to operational leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain, to assess customer requirements and prioritize production activities accordingly.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source outside operations and procure necessary components and materials for sub and final assemblies.
  • Ensure that materials are stocked to appropriate levels to support smooth workflow and minimize production disruptions.
  • Monitor inventory levels and usage rates, identifying potential shortages or excesses and taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Optimize production efficiency by balancing workload, capacity, and resource availability to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Communicate effectively with production teams to convey schedule changes, material requirements, and other relevant information.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the production planning function, implementing best practices and standard operating procedures as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Engineering teams to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards throughout the production process.
  • Proactively identify and address potential risks or constraints that may impact production schedules or customer deliveries.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing Demand Planning or Production Planning role, preferably in a custom manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with metal industry manufacturing processes and materials is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other planning software tools, with the ability to generate reports and analyze production data.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in planning and execution.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
