You will collaborate closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to contribute to new product development, improve existing designs, and help deliver high-quality, innovative solutions to market.

Job Duties

  • Assist in the design and development of mechanical components, including smoke sensor enclosures and airflow systems.
  • Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using software such as SolidWorks or Creo, ensuring designs meet functionality, manufacturability, and cost targets.
  • Support mechanical finite element analysis (FEA) activities (e.g., drop tests, plastic snap fits, and stress analysis) under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Contribute to smoke and airflow simulations (with training) using computational tools and assist in analyzing results to optimize designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electronics, firmware, test engineering) to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electronic components.
  • Assist in prototype development, mechanical testing, validation, and documentation for new product introductions.
  • Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation and support engineering processes related to mechanical design, prototyping, and testing activities.

You Must Have

  • Internship, co-op, or academic project experience related to mechanical product design, FEA, or CFD.
  • Exposure to 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or similar.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals, material selection, and manufacturing processes.

We Value

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to learn simulation techniques and mechanical analysis (training provided).
  • Basic understanding of tolerance stack-ups and critical-to-function dimensions.
  • Familiarity with thermal analysis, fluid dynamics, or smoke/airflow simulation tools.
  • Exposure to product development processes and design for manufacturability (DFM) concepts.

What’s In It For You

  • Work in a Hybrid setting (3 days in office, 2 days remote).
  • Enjoy work-life balance with generous, flexible vacation time based on business priorities.
  • Immediate eligibility for Medical, Dental, Vision insurance, and 401K matching plans.
  • Opportunities for growth and mentorship in a dynamic and innovative environment.
