About Sanctuary PBC

Sanctuary PBC is a mission-driven public benefit corporation that provides emergency housing for displaced individuals—starting with survivors of domestic violence—through a secure, responsive platform accessed by first responders, caseworkers, and care agencies. Our technology ensures that vulnerable individuals are safely and immediately connected to available hotel rooms and short-term housing when shelter beds are unavailable.

Position Summary

Sanctuary PBC is seeking a passionate, strategic, and results-driven Donations, Sponsorship & Major Gifts Manager to lead our fundraising initiatives. This individual will design and execute a comprehensive revenue strategy encompassing individual donations, corporate sponsorships, foundation support, and major gift cultivation. You will play a vital role in helping scale our impact and expand our services to more individuals in crisis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fundraising Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and manage a fundraising roadmap aligned with organizational growth and impact goals.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with high-net-worth donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations.
  • Oversee donor segmentation and stewardship strategies to increase retention and lifetime value.
  • Corporate Sponsorships & Partnerships
  • Create compelling sponsorship packages and value propositions for corporate partners.
  • Secure cause-marketing partnerships with hospitality, tech, and social impact-aligned companies.
  • Coordinate joint campaigns and public recognition opportunities with sponsors.
  • Major Gifts & Philanthropic Development
  • Build a major donor pipeline and create tailored cultivation and solicitation strategies.
  • Host one-on-one donor meetings, briefings, and virtual/in-person giving events.
  • Work with the CEO and Board to identify and support key donor introductions.
  • Grants & Institutional Funding
  • Collaborate with grant writers or consultants to pursue foundation and government grants.
  • Maintain relationships with program officers and funders to ensure renewal and expansion.
  • Donor Communications & Reporting
  • Develop messaging, reports, and storytelling materials that demonstrate Sanctuary’s impact.
  • Maintain donor CRM (e.g., Salesforce or Bloomerang) for timely communication and tracking.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in fundraising, development, sponsorship, or nonprofit advancement.
  • Demonstrated success in securing five- and six-figure gifts from individuals and/or corporations.
  • Strong storytelling and proposal-writing skills, with attention to data and impact.
  • Experience engaging donors from the corporate social responsibility, tech, or housing sectors preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a startup-like, mission-first environment with high autonomy.
  • Empathy for survivors of violence and displaced persons; commitment to equity and justice.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Performance-based bonus potential
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • Flexible work environment (hybrid schedule possible)
  • Opportunity to drive transformational change at scale
